Find friends nearby to participate in activity or event

Project Idea: Via Hospedagem de Sites

Create an application that helps people find people nearby that wants to participate in a specific activity (ex: a specific sport , an Italian dinner, etc) - meet new people or meet up with existing friends.

People:

  • Weblocal hospedagem : Create an application(Php, Mysql, Mssql, Asp, Asp.net) that helps people find new people nearby that wants to participate in a specific activity (ex: a specific sport , an Italian dinner, etc) ... I have PHP, MySQL, Redis, Javascript,  jQuery, XHTML/CSS, Facebook API skills. I am looking for somebody willing to help coding it because looking at the time available one person may be not  enough. Also since it makes a lot of sense that the application is accessible from mobiles (iPhone, Android, ect), I am looking for someone that has experience in building web based mobile apps.
  • Michelle Lupei: (UX designer who happens to code in Ruby on Rails, jQuery, PHP, etc., and has lots of cross-platform mobile css experience) - I'm with Chris - I've been wanting to build (or at least find) a site that helps you find partners for a specific activity at a specific time, amongst your friends or with random strangers...  kind of like crazyblinddate.com but gender-preference-neutral How to Train for a Mud Runs and less skeevy than craigslist.
  • Nathan Tsoi: Im all about the android (or iPhone if someone brings me a mac... silly windows laptop). I can also help w/ webstuffs or teh backend.
  • Tarik Ansari: UI: vanilla JS and jQuery expert (and experience with all the other major frameworks), CSS3 ninja, can design a good looking app in a record time without opening Photoshop, using everything well-supported in HTML5, can design drap and drop, complex widgets, effects, inputs. Backend: Sr. PHP/MySQL developer (but banning PHP for me for any new project), new comer to Rails (2.x and 3), Ruby lover, Python and Java friendly. Platform: new comer to and Heroku lover. Philosophy: making app work with JS and CSS off, and gracefully improve with addition of support (it forces in making clean, modular, compliant and semantic code)
  • Martin Sanders: I've done a lot of location-related coding on both the front-end (web and lawyers burnaby mobile (both iPhone and Android) apps) and the back-end. So, I am familiar with the details Boxing Glove and intricacies of Family Lawyers Surrey location-based apps.
  • Kimball Bighorse: Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Facebook API experience (mogli).  I'm with Christina, but I also know Chris.
  • Christina Landry: (Newbie in CSS, HTML, and HAML) My background is in Architectural Design, but I have very recently thrown myself for Richmond Lawyers into web and am extremely interested in UX.  Would love to help out in any way I can and am hoping to learn a ton in the process! Social Media Agency Manchester

I'd like to join this team, not an engineer but I might be able to contribute, my background is copyright/IP and customer service at Youtube. Thanks
